Geers Offset packages‘Over the River’

On the occasion of the ‘Over the River’ exhibition, organised by the Knokke branch of the Guy Pieters Gallery, Geers Offset was asked to take care of the photo-engraving and printing of the book dedicated to the latest work of this well-known artist.

Christo, who was in the news before with his spectacular wrapping of the Reichstag in Berlin and the Pont Neuf in Paris among other things, will span the Arkansas River in Colorado with cloth, starting in 2009.

The result is a beautiful book in 6-colour print, produced on our Heidelberg 8 colour press. The biggest challenge in production was probably the wrapper for the cloth, which had to be an imitation of the silver-coloured jute cloth that will be used by Christo.

The ‘Over the River’ exhibition was held at the Guy Pieters Gallery, from 29 April to 22 May.
